With demand for hand-crafted work as strong as ever, I have taken on a wide range of commissions over the years encompassing calligraphy, illustration, heraldic painting and illumination. 

For creative work, I draw inspiration from the silent stillness of the natural world - with all its wondrous creatures, forms and textures, light and shadow. A fossil, a single leaf or stone might hold endless allure, as do fleeting moments that seem to stand still in time.

I value traditional skills and enjoy working with hand-ground ink, watercolour, egg tempera, oil paint, gold leaf and vellum. I arm myself with a battery of brushes, vintage drawing instruments and hand-dipped pens - but each new piece of work begins its life with a simple sharpened pencil.
